This year I finally moved 4 pawpaw trees to the field. I got these from eBay, a source in Tennessee. Last year, I stratified 100 pawpaw seeds collected from a friend, and these are now sprouting in cups. But these are the first ones I moved into a place with sun, so they can actually produce fruit. I used sticks and cardboard to block the sun. Pawpaws are sun-sensitive when young. But once they acclimate to the sun, they THRIVE. More news later….

A young guy across the way mowed the field one time for me. I let him shoot a deer or two on the place over the years. A few years past the NEW BRIDGE PROJECT being complete, my field has dried out considerably. What once was a mostly wet, marshy mess, is now a few springs popped to the surface, and a few places holding water back. I started working on a way to map the farm at Cat Gap Road. I found you can do a lot on Google Maps, especially Google My Maps. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1RI9fpPjOjlDLSLtHcGp3GXEsXKMlxh0&ll=34.898218939347444%2C-83.54087186466904&z=15 This is the start of my map. I need a way to track plantings, and areas where various crops are planted. More on this as I research. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am putting together a sort of recovery/conservation plan for this old farm. I am going to put it to work, while preserving it for my family and all to come after. I will post more on these efforts as I get time, but for now filing to be “official” and getting started is today’s big accomplishment. I filed an LLC with the State of Georgia. If the name PRIMITIVE RIVER is available, it should work out fine. So mark March 18, 2025 as the date I filed the LLC. Stay tuned for more……. ###
